8+ Years Post-Accreditation Experience

What to Expect

An initial assessment meeting helps you to discover if you are comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and determine if therapy may assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an initial assessment session in St. George, Bristol.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy focuses on how your thoughts affect your feelings and behaviour. It identifies and addresses negative thoughts which perpetuate the problems you encounter. The aim of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to have healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends CBT for alcohol dependence, anorexia nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder (BED), Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), bulimia nervosa, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and social anxiety disorder.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You decide what matter regarding your childhood or adult life you discuss. The objective of counselling is to enable you to speak about a difficulty and discover a solution which is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.
