More Detail

4+ Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Hello. I am Jenny. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor - I help individuals and couples with their mental wellbeing. I have private sector experience as a counsellor. My focus involves bereavement, depression and self esteem, and the specific obstacles encountered by men and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment appointment helps you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what troubles you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and decide if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an introductory assessment session in St Leonards-on-Sea.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

(1 Review)
CBT focuses on how your thoughts affect your feelings and actions. It recognises and challenges negative ideas that perpetuate the issues you encounter. The objective of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to have healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests cognitive behavioural therapy for alcohol dependence, anorexia nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder (BED), bipolar disorder, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia, self harm and social anxiety disorder.

Counselling

(2 Reviews)
Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine what issue concerning your early years and/or adult life you discuss. The aim of counselling is to help you to speak about a problem and find a solution that is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychology

Psychology is interested in you and your thoughts, feelings and actions. It offers you psychological treatments and mental health support. An objective of psychological therapy is to help you alleviate symptoms.

Solution Focused Therapy (SFT)

Solution focused therapy concentrates on discovering solutions for the problems you experience. It explores what assists you, and which steps you can make to effect change. The purpose of solution focused therapy is to help you recognise and utilise your personal resources.
