3+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hi. I am Jean. I'm a registered psychotherapeutic counsellor and an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I assist individuals and couples with their psychological health. What to Expect

A preliminary assessment meeting enables you to see if you feel comfortable with me, share what troubles you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and determine if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an initial assessment appointment in Brockenhurst.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy focuses on how your thoughts (cognitions) affect your feelings and actions. It recognises and addresses unhelpful ideas that perpetuate the problems you experience. The objective of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to have healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests CBT for anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and self harm.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide what issue regarding your childhood and/or adult life you explore. The aim of counselling is to enable you to speak about a problem and discover a way forward that is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the problems you face. It explores your thoughts, emotions and relevant events in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you develop or discover appropriate ways of managing.
