More Detail

7+ Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Hi. I am Jane Ross-Wheatley. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor - I support individuals with their psychological wellbeing. I have private and voluntary sector experience as a counsellor. My interest includes depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and self esteem, as well as the particular difficulties encountered by men and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment meeting helps you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and determine if therapy could assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an introductory assessment appointment in Wells.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT concentrates on how your thoughts (cognitions) influence your emotions and actions. It identifies and addresses negative thoughts that maintain the problems you experience. The aim of CBT is for you to have healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends cognitive behavioural therapy for Binge Eating Disorder (BED), depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder and self harm.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You decide what issue regarding your childhood or adult life you explore. The aim of counselling is to enable you to speak about a problem and discover a solution that is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy combines therapeutic approaches to suit your preferences and the issues you encounter. It explores your personal experiences and choices. The aim of integrative therapy is to help you develop your self-awareness.
