More Detail

5 Months Post-Registration Experience

Hello. I am Jane. I'm a registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals with their mental wellbeing. I hold private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My focus involves bereavement, depression and relationship problems, and the specific difficulties faced by women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment session enables you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, share what troubles you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and determine if therapy could help you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an initial assessment session in Highgate, London or Finchley, London.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy focuses on how your thoughts (cognitions) influence your emotions and actions. It recognises and challenges negative thoughts which maintain the problems you experience. The aim of CBT is for you to have healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates cognitive behavioural therapy for depression.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine which issue concerning your childhood and/or adulthood you explore. The objective of counselling is to enable you to speak about a problem and find a way forward which is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Humanistic Therapy

Humanistic therapy centres on appreciating you. It considers you as a whole person and prioritises your personal growth. Humanistic therapy seeks to help you recognise your autonomy.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy combines therapies to fit your preferences and the issues you encounter. It considers your subjective experience and options. The aim of integrative therapy is to help you develop your self-awareness.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy centres on the unconscious causes of the issues you experience. It facilitates you in being conscious of aspects of your inner dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy seeks to enhance your self-understanding to give you choices.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends psychodynamic therapy for depression.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the problems you confront. It explores your ideas, emotions and significant events in your history. Psychotherapy aims to help you develop or discover appropriate ways of managing.
