22+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Welcome. I'm Jane Hampson. I'm a registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I help individuals and couples with their emotional wellbeing. I hold private and public sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My focus involves depression, relationship problems and stress, as well as the specific issues faced by men, transgender people and women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment appointment enables you to discover if you are comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and decide if therapy may assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an initial assessment appointment in Hampton.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You decide what matter concerning your early years and/or adult life you discuss. The aim of counselling is to help you to speak about a difficulty and find a way forward which is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on the unconscious meaning of the issues you experience. It facilitates you in being conscious of parts of your internal dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy aims to enhance your self-understanding to give you choices.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends psychodynamic therapy for anorexia nervosa, depression and self harm.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the difficulties you face. It explores your thoughts, emotions and significant moments in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you develop or find suitable ways of managing.
