More Detail

6+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Welcome. I am Jane Dawson. I'm a registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I help individuals with their mental health. I hold private and voluntary sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My interest involves depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and relationship problems, as well as the particular problems encountered by men and women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment session enables you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, share what worries you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and determine if therapy may help you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an initial assessment appointment in Highbury, London or Islington, London.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine what issue concerning your childhood or adult life you discuss. An aim of counselling is to enable you to speak about a problem and discover a solution that is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy combines therapeutic approaches to suit your needs and the issues you experience. It explores your subjective experiences and options. An aim of integrative therapy is to help you develop your self-awareness.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the problems you confront. It considers your ideas, feelings and relevant events in your life. Psychotherapy intends to help you develop or discover appropriate ways of coping.
