15+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hi. I'm Jan Sheppard. I'm a senior accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I assist individuals and couples with their mental health. I have private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My interest involves depression, and the specific challenges faced by men.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment session allows you to see if you feel comfortable with me, share what worries you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and assess if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an initial assessment appointment in Walthamstow, London, Bow, London or Canary Wharf, London.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide which matter regarding your early years and/or adult life you discuss. An objective of counselling is to enable you to speak about a difficulty and find a way forward that is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Existential Therapy

Existential therapy explores how you comprehend your life. It encompasses deliberation on your perspectives, capacities and choices. Existential therapy aims to help you find meaning in your life and the problems you experience.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the problems you confront. It considers your thoughts, emotions and relevant events in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you change or discover suitable ways of coping.
