9+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hello. I'm Jan. I'm a registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals and couples with their emotional wellbeing. I have private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My focus includes anger, depression and relationship problems, and the particular challenges faced by mixed ethnic background men, transgender people and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment meeting allows you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and decide if therapy may assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an introductory assessment meeting in Littlehampton.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You decide which issue regarding your early years and/or adult life you explore. An aim of counselling is to help you to talk about a difficulty and discover a way forward that is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy combines therapeutic approaches to suit your needs and the problems you experience. It explores your personal experiences and options. The aim of integrative therapy is to help you develop your self-understanding.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the difficulties you face. It considers your ideas, emotions and relevant moments in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you develop or discover suitable ways of coping.
