11+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hello. I'm James Carver. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I help individuals with their mental wellbeing. I have private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My focus includes anger, and the particular challenges experienced by men and women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment appointment enables you to discover if you are comfortable with me, discuss what troubles you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and assess if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an introductory assessment appointment in King's Lynn or City of London, London.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy concentrates on how your thoughts influence your feelings and behaviour. It recognises and addresses negative thoughts which perpetuate the issues you encounter. The objective of CBT is for you to experience healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates CBT for depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and self harm.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine what issue regarding your early years and/or adulthood you explore. The aim of counselling is to help you to talk about a difficulty and find a solution which is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the difficulties you confront. It considers your ideas, feelings and significant moments in your history. Psychotherapy aims to help you change or discover suitable methods of coping.
