13+ Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Welcome. I am Jackie Becker. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals with their emotional health. I hold private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My focus includes depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and relationship problems, and the specific challenges encountered by men, transgender people and women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment meeting enables you to see if you are comfortable with me, share what concerns you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and determine if therapy may help you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an initial assessment appointment in Bushey.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide which issue concerning your early years or adulthood you discuss. The aim of counselling is to help you to speak about a problem and find a way forward that is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy centres on the unconscious meaning of the issues you encounter. It facilitates you in becoming conscious of parts of your inner dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy aims to increase your self-understanding to give you choices.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests psychodynamic therapy for anorexia nervosa, depression and self harm.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the problems you confront. It explores your ideas, feelings and significant events in your history. Psychotherapy intends to help you change or discover suitable methods of managing.
