More Detail

6+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hello. I am Helen. I'm a registered psychotherapist - I assist individuals and couples with their emotional wellbeing. I have private, public and voluntary sector experience as a psychotherapist. My focus includes abuse, depression and self esteem, and the particular challenges faced by men and women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment meeting allows you to discover if you are comfortable with me, share what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and assess if therapy could benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange a preliminary assessment meeting in Totnes, Bovey Tracey, Newton Abbot or Exeter.

Client Centred Therapy

Client centred therapy focuses on appreciating and supporting you. It encourages your honesty about the worries you encounter. Client centred therapy aims to help you find your own answers.

Core Process Therapy

Core process therapy centres on your relationship with yourself and others. It encourages your recognition of choices in your life. Core process therapy seeks to help you gain more self-awareness.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You decide what issue concerning your early years or adulthood you explore. The objective of counselling is to enable you to speak about a difficulty and discover a way forward which is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the difficulties you face. It explores your thoughts, feelings and relevant events in your history. Psychotherapy aims to help you develop or discover suitable ways of managing.
