6+ Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Hello. I'm Halima. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist and an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) psychotherapist - I support individuals with their emotional health. I hold private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist and a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) psychotherapist.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment meeting allows you to discover if you are comfortable with me, share what concerns you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and determine if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange a preliminary assessment meeting in Finsbury Park, London.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy focuses on how your thoughts affect your emotions and behaviour. It recognises and addresses unhelpful thoughts which maintain the problems you experience. The objective of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to have healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends CBT for depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide which issue regarding your childhood or adult life you explore. An objective of counselling is to help you to talk about a problem and find a way forward that is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the difficulties you confront. It considers your ideas, feelings and relevant moments in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you change or discover suitable ways of coping.
