Hello. I'm Guy. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I help individuals and couples with their emotional wellbeing. I have private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My focus involves abuse, depression and relationship problems, as well as the particular difficulties encountered by men and women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment session allows you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and decide if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an introductory assessment meeting in Southampton, Parkstone, Poole or Bournemouth.

Counselling

(6 Reviews)
Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You decide which issue regarding your childhood and/or adulthood you explore. The aim of counselling is to help you to talk about a difficulty and discover a solution which is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the difficulties you face. It explores your thoughts, feelings and relevant moments in your life. Psychotherapy intends to help you change or discover appropriate methods of coping.

"Guy is non-judgemental, and a great listener, and is very empathetic. He helped me work through the challenges I faced as my marriage broke down enabling me to make the right decisions for me and my son. I am in a good place now, and his help was invaluable. Would highly recommend Guy. His understanding of relationship breakdowns is impressive and especially how to put your children first."

"Guy is just so easy to talk to, but he doesn't push the conversation. Made us both feel at ease from the start, and by the end of just a few sessions, he made us feel like it was just a casual chat...but it was so helpful."

He has found ways to help us see situations more clearly and provides a stable environment for my wife and I to share our feelings openly. Guy has been hugely supportive and we have come to trust him implicitly in our continuing therapy sessions."
