3+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hi. I'm Glenda. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals and couples with their mental wellbeing. I have private and voluntary sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My interest includes abuse, depression and relationship problems, and the particular issues faced by gay, heterosexual and mixed ethnic background men and women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment meeting helps you to see if you feel comfortable with me, share what troubles you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and determine if therapy could assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to book a preliminary assessment meeting in Weybridge or Guildford.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy focuses on how your thoughts (cognitions) influence your feelings and behaviour. It recognises and addresses negative thoughts that maintain the problems you experience. The aim of CBT is for you to experience healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests cognitive behavioural therapy for alcohol dependence, anorexia nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder (BED), bipolar disorder, bulimia nervosa, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), self harm and social anxiety disorder.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You decide what issue concerning your childhood or adult life you explore. The aim of counselling is to help you to talk about a difficulty and discover a way forward that is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy combines therapeutic approaches to suit your needs and the problems you experience. It explores your personal experiences and choices. The aim of integrative therapy is to help you advance your self-understanding.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy centres on the unconscious meaning of the issues you experience. It facilitates you in being aware of aspects of your inner dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy seeks to enhance your self-comprehension to give you choices.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends psychodynamic therapy for anorexia nervosa, depression, self harm and social anxiety disorder.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the difficulties you confront. It considers your ideas, emotions and significant moments in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you change or find appropriate methods of managing.
