17+ Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Hello. I am Frances. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals and couples with their mental wellbeing. I have private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My focus includes depression, and the particular difficulties experienced by men and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment meeting helps you to discover if you are comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and assess if therapy may assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an introductory assessment session in Woodford Bridge, Woodford Green.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine which issue regarding your childhood or adulthood you explore. An aim of counselling is to help you to talk about a difficulty and find a solution that is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR)

Eye movement desensitisation reprocessing directs your eye motions to affect how your mind processes information. The procedure endeavours to reprocess your locked traumatic recollections. The objective of EMDR is to desensitise your painful memories.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests EMDR for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Psychoanalytic Therapy

Psychoanalytic therapy concentrates on the unconscious causes of the problems you encounter. It facilitates your consciousness of some of your unconscious. The aim of psychoanalytic therapy is for you to gain personal knowledge and use it if you wish to.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the difficulties you face. It considers your ideas, emotions and relevant moments in your history. Psychotherapy aims to help you change or discover suitable ways of coping.
