What to Expect

A preliminary assessment appointment helps you to see if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and decide if therapy could assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an initial assessment session in Maldon.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide which matter concerning your childhood and/or adult life you explore. The objective of counselling is to help you to talk about a difficulty and find a solution which is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy centres on the unconscious meaning of the problems you experience. It facilitates you in being aware of parts of your inner dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy seeks to enhance your self-comprehension to give you options.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends psychodynamic therapy for depression and self harm.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the problems you confront. It explores your thoughts, feelings and relevant events in your history. Psychotherapy intends to help you change or discover suitable ways of managing.
