More Detail

5+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hello. I'm Emily. I'm a registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I help individuals with their psychological wellbeing. I have private and voluntary sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My interest includes depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and relationship problems, as well as the specific challenges encountered by men and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment appointment enables you to see if you feel comfortable with me, share what concerns you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and determine if therapy could benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an initial assessment appointment in Victoria, London.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine which issue regarding your early years and/or adulthood you explore. An objective of counselling is to enable you to speak about a difficulty and discover a way forward which is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on the unconscious meaning of the issues you experience. It facilitates you in becoming aware of aspects of your internal dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy seeks to increase your self-understanding to give you choices.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends psychodynamic therapy for anorexia nervosa, depression, self harm and social anxiety disorder.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the difficulties you face. It explores your thoughts, feelings and significant events in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you develop or discover appropriate ways of coping.
