More Detail

4+ Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Hi. I am Emily. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I assist individuals with their psychological wellbeing. I have private and public sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My interest involves depression, as well as the specific challenges encountered by women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment session enables you to discover if you are comfortable with me, share what worries you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and decide if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an introductory assessment appointment in Chelsea, London or Oxford Circus, London.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy focuses on how your thoughts affect your emotions and behaviour. It recognises and challenges negative thoughts which maintain the problems you experience. The objective of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to experience healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends cognitive behavioural therapy for alcohol dependence, anorexia nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder (BED), bipolar disorder, bulimia nervosa, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), self harm and social anxiety disorder.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide which issue regarding your childhood and/or adult life you discuss. An aim of counselling is to enable you to talk about a problem and find a solution which is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy combines therapies to fit your needs and the issues you experience. It explores your subjective experiences and choices. An aim of integrative therapy is to help you develop your self-awareness.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the problems you confront. It considers your ideas, feelings and relevant events in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you develop or find suitable ways of managing.
