6+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hi. I am Eileen. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor - I assist individuals with their mental wellbeing. I hold private and public sector experience as a counsellor. My interest includes bereavement, depression and Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), as well as the specific challenges faced by transgender people.

What to Expect

An initial assessment session enables you to see if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what troubles you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and assess if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an introductory assessment appointment in Hazlemere, High Wycombe.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on how your thoughts (cognitions) influence your feelings and behaviour. It recognises and addresses unhelpful thoughts that perpetuate the problems you encounter. The objective of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to have healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends cognitive behavioural therapy for alcohol dependence, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), self harm and social anxiety disorder.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine which issue concerning your early years and/or adult life you discuss. The objective of counselling is to enable you to talk about a problem and discover a way forward that is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.
