Hi. I am Victor. I'm a chartered psychologist - I assist individuals and couples with their mental wellbeing. I have private and public sector experience as a psychologist. My focus includes Binge Eating Disorder (BED), Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), bulimia nervosa and depression, as well as the particular issues encountered by men, transgender people and women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment session enables you to discover if you are comfortable with me, discuss what worries you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and assess if therapy may assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an introductory assessment session in Gorseinon, Swansea or Swansea.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

(1 Review)
Cognitive behavioural therapy focuses on how your thoughts (cognitions) affect your emotions and actions. It identifies and addresses unhelpful ideas that perpetuate the issues you experience. The objective of CBT is for you to experience healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates cognitive behavioural therapy for anorexia nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder (BED), Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), bulimia nervosa, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), self harm and social anxiety disorder.

(7 Reviews)
Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You determine which issue concerning your early years and/or adult life you explore. An objective of counselling is to help you to speak about a difficulty and discover a solution that is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

(1 Review)
DBT evaluates your understanding of your thoughts and feelings. It facilitates your finding of helpful reactions to your life. Dialectical behaviour therapy hopes to help you improve and maintain your coping abilities.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests DBT for Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD).

(1 Review)

Easy to talk toHelpfulnessValue for Money

"So glad we found, my 17 year old daughter was suffering with terrible anxiety before she started her therapy sessions. She found that put her at her ease and very easy to talk to, after every session she would come out as if a weight had been lifted off her shoulders. It's so lovely to have my daughter so relaxed, happy and with a much more positive outlook on life. I don't think we would have got this far so quickly if it wasn't for. I cannot thank enough for all his help and support, money well spent as far as we are concerned."

"John is an incredibly understanding, helpful and thoughtful therapist. I was totally against the idea of ever speaking to anyone regarding the issues I have, but made it incredibly easy for me to open up about a number of problems. is non judgemental and guides me to resolve the issues in a calm and effective manner that suits me. He has worked wonders for my confidence and self esteem, helped with my lack of sleep and stress levels and I would highly recommend to anyone that is in need of therapy."

"John's ability to reason with my emotions was exceptional, he was able to logically explain what I was going through from a psychological perspective, when I wasn't 100% sure myself. He gave me good advice, he taught me how to cope with my depression, gradually, as each week went on, I found as long as I followed his excellent advice, I'd begin to feel better than the week before. I can now honestly say, thanks to everything that has helped me with, I've never felt better, I owe this man a great thanks for all the help he has given me. I would be more than happy to recommend Dr to anyone, friend, family or strangers, he has a lot of experience with his work, and he's clearly good at what he does."

"John is a warm, friendly, kind person who makes you feel like you're opening up to a long standing friend. He is helping me work through childhood emotional neglect and sleep problems. I bounce out of our sessions feeling lighter and full of purpose. I no longer fear that I will always feel this way, I have hope that I can heal in time. He has helped me to understand the reasons why I feel the way I do and made me realise that I am not alone. I look forward to where this journey will take me and I am so glad that I have found to guide me along the way."
