13+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Welcome. I am Rupert Nieboer. I'm a registered psychotherapist and a registered clinical psychologist - I help individuals with their psychological health. I have private and public sector experience as a psychotherapist and a clinical psychologist. My interest includes relationship problems, as well as the particular issues encountered by men.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment session helps you to see if you are comfortable with me, share what worries you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and assess if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an initial assessment session in Tooting Bec, London.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on how your thoughts affect your feelings and behaviour. It identifies and addresses negative thoughts which maintain the problems you experience. The objective of CBT is for you to experience healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends CBT for bipolar disorder, Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and social anxiety disorder.

Mentalisation Based Therapy (MBT)

Mentalisation is the ability to understand yourself and others. MBT aims to help you improve your understanding, so you and your relationships are more stable.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends mentalisation based therapy for Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD).

Psychoanalysis

Psychoanalysis concentrates on you, and your unconscious. It facilitates you in understanding the unconscious causes and meaning of difficulties. Psychoanalysis endeavours to help you procure deep knowledge and examine the choices it offers.

Psychoanalytic Therapy

Psychoanalytic therapy concentrates on the unconscious causes of the problems you encounter. It fosters your awareness of some of your unconscious. An objective of psychoanalytic therapy is for you to attain personal insight and utilise it if you decide to.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy centres on the unconscious meaning of the problems you experience. It facilitates you in becoming conscious of parts of your internal dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy seeks to increase your self-comprehension to give you options.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests psychodynamic therapy for depression and social anxiety disorder.

Psychology

Psychology is interested in you and your mind, emotions and behaviour. It offers you psychological treatments and mental health support. The intention of psychological therapies is to help you ease symptoms.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the problems you confront. It explores your ideas, feelings and significant events in your history. Psychotherapy intends to help you change or discover appropriate methods of coping.
