2+ Years Post-Chartership Experience

Hello. I am Nicola. I'm a chartered and registered counselling psychologist and an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) psychotherapist - I support individuals and couples with their emotional health. I hold private sector experience as a counselling psychologist and a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) psychotherapist. My interest includes relationship problems, as well as the particular difficulties experienced by men and women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment session helps you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what worries you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and assess if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an introductory assessment appointment in Weybridge.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy concentrates on how your thoughts affect your emotions and actions. It recognises and addresses negative ideas that maintain the issues you experience. The objective of CBT is for you to experience healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates cognitive behavioural therapy for alcohol dependence, anorexia nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder (BED), bipolar disorder, Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), bulimia nervosa, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia, self harm and social anxiety disorder.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You decide which issue concerning your early years and/or adult life you explore. The aim of counselling is to enable you to speak about a difficulty and find a solution which is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychology

Psychology is interested in you and your mind, feelings and behaviour. It offers you psychological interventions and mental health support. The objective of psychological therapies is to help you ease symptoms.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the problems you confront. It considers your ideas, emotions and relevant events in your history. Psychotherapy intends to help you develop or find suitable methods of managing.
