More Detail

13+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hello. I'm Karen. I'm a chartered psychologist and a registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals with their mental wellbeing. I have private and voluntary sector experience as a psychologist and a counsellor and psychotherapist. My focus includes abuse, relationship problems and stress, as well as the specific obstacles faced by men, transgender people and women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment appointment allows you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, share what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and decide if therapy could assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an initial assessment appointment in West End, London or Belsize Park, London.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide what matter regarding your childhood or adulthood you discuss. The aim of counselling is to enable you to speak about a problem and discover a way forward which is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychoanalytic Therapy

Psychoanalytic therapy focuses on the unconscious meaning of the problems you encounter. It facilitates your consciousness of some of your unconscious. An aim of psychoanalytic therapy is for you to attain personal knowledge and use it if you wish to.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on the unconscious meaning of the problems you experience. It facilitates you in being conscious of parts of your internal dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy seeks to enhance your self-comprehension to give you options.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends psychodynamic therapy for depression.

Psychology

Psychology is interested in you and your thoughts, feelings and behaviour. It offers you psychological treatments and mental health support. An intention of psychological therapy is to help you ease symptoms.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the problems you confront. It considers your thoughts, feelings and significant events in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you develop or find appropriate ways of managing.
