8+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hello. I'm Helen. I'm a registered clinical psychologist - I help individuals with their psychological wellbeing. I have private and voluntary sector experience as a clinical psychologist. My focus includes depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and stress, as well as the specific difficulties experienced by men and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment session enables you to discover if you are comfortable with me, share what concerns you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and determine if therapy could assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an introductory assessment appointment in Brighton or Brighton.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy focuses on how your thoughts affect your emotions and actions. It recognises and addresses negative ideas that maintain the problems you encounter. The aim of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to experience healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates CBT for bipolar disorder, bulimia nervosa, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and self harm.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy centres on the unconscious causes of the issues you encounter. It facilitates you in being aware of parts of your internal dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy seeks to enhance your self-understanding to give you options.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests psychodynamic therapy for depression and self harm.

Psychology is interested in you and your mind, feelings and actions. It offers you psychological interventions and mental health support. The intention of psychological therapies is to help you alleviate symptoms.

Systemic Therapy

Systemic therapy concentrates on the system of interactions between you and others. It addresses the interactions which perpetuate the relationship problems you experience. Systemic therapy seeks to help you enhance how you interact with people.
