6+ Years Post-Chartership Experience

Welcome. I am Flavia. I'm a chartered and registered counselling psychologist - I support individuals and couples with their emotional health. I have private and public sector experience as a counselling psychologist. My interest includes depression, relationship problems and self esteem, and the particular challenges experienced by women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment appointment helps you to discover if you are comfortable with me, share what troubles you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and decide if therapy may help you. Please use a contact option on the right to book a preliminary assessment meeting in Barbican, London or City of London, London.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT concentrates on how your thoughts (cognitions) influence your emotions and actions. It recognises and addresses negative ideas that maintain the problems you encounter. The objective of CBT is for you to experience healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests cognitive behavioural therapy for Binge Eating Disorder (BED), Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), bulimia nervosa, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and self harm.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine which matter concerning your early years and/or adult life you discuss. An objective of counselling is to help you to speak about a difficulty and discover a way forward that is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT)

Dynamic interpersonal therapy focuses on your unconscious pattern of relating to people. It identifies the link between your specific pattern and the interpersonal difficulty you encounter. The intention of dynamic interpersonal therapy is to help you develop your relationship know-how.

Psychology

Psychology is interested in you and your mind, emotions and behaviour. It offers you psychological treatments and mental wellbeing support. The objective of psychological therapy is to help you alleviate symptoms.
