What to Expect

A preliminary assessment appointment helps you to see if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what worries you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and assess if therapy could help you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an initial assessment session in Edinburgh or Victoria, London.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on how your thoughts influence your emotions and behaviour. It identifies and addresses negative ideas that perpetuate the issues you encounter. The aim of CBT is for you to have healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests cognitive behavioural therapy for anorexia nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder (BED), bipolar disorder, bulimia nervosa, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and schizophrenia.

Psychology is interested in you and your thoughts, emotions and actions. It offers you psychological treatments and mental health support. An objective of psychological therapy is to help you alleviate symptoms.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the difficulties you confront. It explores your ideas, emotions and relevant moments in your life. Psychotherapy intends to help you develop or discover suitable ways of managing.
