Hello. I'm Alistair McBeath. I'm a chartered psychologist and an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I assist individuals with their psychological health. I hold private sector experience as a psychologist and a counsellor and psychotherapist.

What to Expect

An initial assessment session helps you to see if you feel comfortable with me, share what worries you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and assess if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange a preliminary assessment meeting in Granton, Edinburgh.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You decide what matter regarding your early years and/or adult life you discuss. The objective of counselling is to enable you to speak about a problem and discover a solution that is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychology is interested in you and your thoughts, feelings and actions. It offers you psychological interventions and mental wellbeing support. The objective of psychological therapy is to help you ease symptoms.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the difficulties you face. It considers your thoughts, emotions and significant moments in your life. Psychotherapy intends to help you change or find appropriate methods of coping.
