Welcome. I am Alexandra Chrysagi. I'm a registered and chartered counselling psychologist - I help individuals and couples with their emotional wellbeing. I hold private and public sector experience as a counselling psychologist. My interest includes Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), as well as the specific obstacles encountered by bisexual, Black and mixed ethnic background men, transgender people and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment session enables you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, share what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and decide if therapy could benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to book a preliminary assessment appointment in Kensington, London or North Marylebone, London.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You determine what matter concerning your childhood and/or adult life you discuss. An objective of counselling is to help you to speak about a difficulty and find a solution which is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

Dialectical behaviour therapy considers your perception of your ideas and feelings. It facilitates your finding of useful reactions to your life. DBT intends to help you enhance and maintain your coping abilities.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends dialectical behaviour therapy for Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD).

Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR directs your eye movements to affect how your mind processes information. The procedure endeavours to reprocess your frozen distressing recollections. The aim of EMDR is to desensitise your upsetting memories.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends EMDR for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Psychology is interested in you and your thoughts, feelings and actions. It offers you psychological interventions and mental health support. The objective of psychological therapy is to help you alleviate symptoms.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the problems you face. It considers your thoughts, feelings and relevant moments in your history. Psychotherapy aims to help you develop or discover appropriate methods of coping.
