More Detail

12+ Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Hi. I am Dee Maddox-Hinton. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals and couples with their mental health. I have private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment meeting allows you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and determine if therapy could benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an introductory assessment session in Burghfield Common, Reading.

Client Centred Therapy

Client centred therapy concentrates on understanding and supporting you. It encourages your openness around the worries you encounter. Client centred therapy seeks to help you discover your own solutions.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy concentrates on how your thoughts affect your emotions and actions. It recognises and addresses negative thoughts which maintain the issues you experience. The objective of CBT is for you to experience healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests CBT for Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD).

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You determine which issue regarding your early years or adulthood you explore. An objective of counselling is to help you to speak about a difficulty and discover a way forward which is appropriate for you.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the difficulties you confront. It explores your ideas, emotions and significant moments in your life. Psychotherapy intends to help you change or discover appropriate methods of coping.
