More Detail

2+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Welcome. I'm Deborah Carroll. I'm a registered accredited counsellor - I help individuals and couples with their emotional wellbeing. I have private, public and voluntary sector experience as a counsellor. My focus includes alcohol dependence, relationship problems and stress, as well as the particular issues experienced by men, transgender people and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment appointment enables you to discover if you are comfortable with me, discuss what worries you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and determine if therapy could help you. Please use a contact option on the right to book a preliminary assessment appointment in Brentwood.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on how your thoughts affect your emotions and behaviour. It recognises and addresses negative thoughts which perpetuate the issues you encounter. The aim of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to experience healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests cognitive behavioural therapy for alcohol dependence, bipolar disorder, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), panic disorder, self harm and social anxiety disorder.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide which matter concerning your childhood or adulthood you explore. The objective of counselling is to enable you to speak about a problem and find a way forward that is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.
