16+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hi. I'm Debbie. I'm a registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals with their mental health. I have private, public and voluntary sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My interest includes anorexia nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder (BED) and bulimia nervosa, as well as the specific challenges experienced by men and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment session allows you to see if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and decide if therapy may assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an initial assessment meeting in Wokingham or Finchampstead, Wokingham.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy focuses on how your thoughts affect your feelings and behaviour. It identifies and challenges negative ideas that perpetuate the issues you experience. The objective of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to experience healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends cognitive behavioural therapy for anorexia nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder (BED), bulimia nervosa, depression and Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD).

(1 Review)
Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine which issue concerning your childhood or adult life you explore. An aim of counselling is to enable you to speak about a difficulty and discover a way forward which is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the problems you confront. It explores your thoughts, feelings and significant moments in your life. Psychotherapy intends to help you change or find appropriate methods of coping.

Transpersonal Therapy

Transpersonal therapy considers your intellect, body and spirit. It views the problems you encounter as opportunities for you to transform. Transpersonal therapy aims to help you acknowledge your human ability.

Easy to talk toHelpfulnessValue for Money

"Debbie was great to speak to and not only listened but gave some very constructive input during my meetings with her. I found this especially helpful as I had been living under circumstances for so long that they had become ‘normalised’ to me, but Debbie affirmed that this situation was definitely not normal. This helped me see more clearly and to be more decisive about myself and my life. Thank you, I would strongly recommend."
