More Detail

18+ Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Hello. I am David Oxley. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals with their mental wellbeing. I have private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My focus includes depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), self esteem and stress, as well as the particular issues encountered by men and women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment session enables you to see if you are comfortable with me, share what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and determine if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange a preliminary assessment appointment in Exeter, Peverell, Plymouth or Totnes.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine what matter regarding your early years or adult life you discuss. An aim of counselling is to help you to talk about a difficulty and discover a way forward which is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the problems you confront. It explores your thoughts, emotions and relevant moments in your history. Psychotherapy intends to help you change or discover suitable methods of coping.
