More Detail

3+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Welcome. I am Claire M. I'm a registered counsellor - I help individuals and couples with their mental health. I hold private sector experience as a counsellor. My interest involves depression and Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), as well as the particular obstacles encountered by men, transgender people and women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment appointment enables you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, share what concerns you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and assess if therapy may assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an introductory assessment appointment in Sutton or Sutton.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on how your thoughts affect your emotions and behaviour. It identifies and addresses unhelpful ideas which perpetuate the issues you experience. The objective of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to experience healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends cognitive behavioural therapy for depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and self harm.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You determine which matter regarding your early years or adulthood you explore. The objective of counselling is to enable you to speak about a difficulty and find a solution that is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy selects therapeutic approaches to fit your preferences and the problems you encounter. It considers your personal experience and choices. An aim of integrative therapy is to help you develop your self-understanding.
