1+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hello. I am Claire Dyson. I'm a registered counsellor - I support individuals with their psychological wellbeing. I have private, public and voluntary sector experience as a counsellor. My focus involves anger, bulimia nervosa and depression, as well as the particular challenges faced by men and women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment session helps you to see if you feel comfortable with me, share what troubles you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and assess if therapy may benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange a preliminary assessment session in Weybridge.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy concentrates on how your thoughts (cognitions) affect your feelings and behaviour. It recognises and addresses negative thoughts which maintain the problems you encounter. The objective of CBT is for you to experience healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates cognitive behavioural therapy for Binge Eating Disorder (BED), bulimia nervosa, depression and Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD).

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You determine which matter regarding your childhood or adult life you discuss. An objective of counselling is to help you to talk about a problem and find a solution which is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy combines therapeutic approaches to fit your needs and the issues you encounter. It explores your personal experiences and choices. An aim of integrative therapy is to help you advance your self-understanding.

Relational Therapy

Relational therapy focuses on how you relate with people. It encourages your honesty about the problems you experience. The objective of relational therapy is to help you identify healthy ways of relating.
