More Detail

22+ Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Hi. I am Christine. I'm an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) psychotherapist - I assist individuals and couples with their mental health. I have private and public sector experience as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) psychotherapist. My interest involves depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), as well as the specific issues experienced by women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment session helps you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and determine if therapy could help you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an introductory assessment appointment in Castle Donington, Derby, Bawtry, Doncaster, Manchester, Cleckheaton or Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Manchester.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on how your thoughts (cognitions) affect your emotions and actions. It identifies and challenges negative thoughts which perpetuate the problems you experience. The aim of CBT is for you to experience healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests CBT for anorexia nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder (BED), bipolar disorder, Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), bulimia nervosa, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), self harm and social anxiety disorder.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine which matter regarding your early years and/or adulthood you explore. An objective of counselling is to help you to speak about a problem and discover a way forward which is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the difficulties you face. It explores your thoughts, emotions and significant moments in your history. Psychotherapy aims to help you develop or discover appropriate ways of managing.
