20+ Years Post-Chartership Experience

Hello. I'm Christina Jane MacMillan. I'm a chartered and registered clinical psychologist - I assist individuals with their psychological health. I have private sector experience as a clinical psychologist. My interest includes self esteem, and the specific challenges experienced by women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment appointment helps you to see if you are comfortable with me, discuss what worries you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and decide if therapy may help you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an initial assessment appointment in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne or Morpeth.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT concentrates on how your thoughts influence your emotions and actions. It recognises and addresses unhelpful ideas which perpetuate the issues you encounter. The objective of CBT is for you to have healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates CBT for alcohol dependence, Binge Eating Disorder (BED), bipolar disorder, Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), bulimia nervosa, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), self harm and social anxiety disorder.

Psychology

Psychology is interested in you and your thoughts, feelings and behaviour. It offers you psychological treatments and mental wellbeing support. The intention of psychological therapies is to help you ease symptoms.
