What to Expect

An initial assessment session enables you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and determine if therapy could assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an initial assessment meeting in Watford.

Client Centred Therapy

Client centred therapy focuses on understanding and supporting you. It facilitates your honesty around the worries you encounter. Client centred therapy aims to help you discover your own answers.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy focuses on how your thoughts affect your feelings and actions. It recognises and addresses unhelpful ideas which maintain the problems you encounter. The aim of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to have healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates cognitive behavioural therapy for alcohol dependence, Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder and self harm.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide which issue regarding your early years or adult life you explore. The objective of counselling is to help you to talk about a difficulty and find a solution that is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Existential Therapy

Existential therapy investigates how you comprehend your life. It encompasses deliberation on your viewpoints, potential and options. Existential therapy seeks to help you find significance in your life and the problems you encounter.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the difficulties you confront. It explores your thoughts, feelings and significant moments in your history. Psychotherapy aims to help you develop or find suitable methods of managing.
