18+ Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Welcome. I am Cheryl. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals and couples with their emotional wellbeing. I have private and public sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My interest includes bereavement, as well as the specific difficulties encountered by women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment session enables you to see if you feel comfortable with me, share what worries you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and assess if therapy could benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an initial assessment session in Colchester.

Client Centred Therapy

Client centred therapy concentrates on appreciating and supporting you. It facilitates your openness around the concerns you encounter. Client centred therapy seeks to help you find your own answers.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You determine which matter concerning your childhood and/or adulthood you explore. The aim of counselling is to enable you to talk about a problem and find a way forward which is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Humanistic Therapy

Humanistic therapy focuses on valuing you. It considers you as a whole human being and prioritises your personal growth. Humanistic therapy aims to help you realise your freedom.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the difficulties you face. It considers your thoughts, feelings and significant moments in your history. Psychotherapy intends to help you develop or discover appropriate ways of managing.
