7 Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Welcome. I'm Catherine Colley. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals with their psychological health. I hold private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My focus involves Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), relationship problems and self esteem, and the specific issues faced by men and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment appointment allows you to see if you feel comfortable with me, share what troubles you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and decide if therapy could benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange a preliminary assessment session in Camden Town, London.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You determine what issue regarding your childhood and/or adulthood you discuss. The aim of counselling is to help you to talk about a difficulty and discover a solution that is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on the unconscious causes of the problems you experience. It facilitates you in becoming aware of aspects of your inner dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy seeks to enhance your self-understanding to give you choices.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends psychodynamic therapy for anorexia nervosa, depression and self harm.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the problems you confront. It considers your thoughts, emotions and relevant events in your life. Psychotherapy intends to help you change or find appropriate ways of managing.
