10+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hello. I am Carol. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I help individuals with their emotional health. I hold private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My interest involves depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and relationship problems, and the specific obstacles faced by men, transgender people and women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment meeting enables you to see if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what worries you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and determine if therapy may help you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an introductory assessment appointment in Frome or Warminster.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You determine what matter regarding your early years or adult life you discuss. The objective of counselling is to help you to talk about a difficulty and find a way forward that is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy centres on the unconscious causes of the issues you experience. It facilitates you in becoming conscious of aspects of your internal dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy aims to enhance your self-comprehension to give you choices.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates psychodynamic therapy for depression and self harm.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the problems you face. It considers your ideas, feelings and significant events in your history. Psychotherapy intends to help you develop or find suitable ways of coping.
