24+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hello. I'm Brian. I'm a senior accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I help individuals and couples with their psychological health. I have private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My interest includes abuse, depression and sexual problems, and the specific difficulties encountered by men and women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment session helps you to see if you are comfortable with me, discuss what worries you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and assess if therapy could benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an introductory assessment session in South Kensington, London or Marylebone, London.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You determine which matter regarding your early years or adulthood you discuss. An objective of counselling is to enable you to speak about a problem and discover a way forward which is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychoanalytic Therapy

Psychoanalytic therapy focuses on the unconscious causes of the issues you experience. It fosters your consciousness of parts of your unconscious. An objective of psychoanalytic therapy is for you to attain personal insight and use it if you decide to.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on the unconscious causes of the problems you experience. It facilitates you in becoming conscious of parts of your inner dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy seeks to increase your self-understanding to give you choices.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends psychodynamic therapy for anorexia nervosa and depression.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the difficulties you confront. It considers your ideas, feelings and relevant moments in your life. Psychotherapy intends to help you develop or find suitable ways of managing.

Thoughts on Mental Health

There is a definite trend that I expect to continue as therapy generally becomes more acceptable to men.
