More Detail

24+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hello. I am Bobbie Sutton. I'm a registered psychotherapist - I help individuals with their emotional wellbeing. I hold private and public sector experience as a psychotherapist. My interest involves depression, relationship problems and self esteem, and the particular obstacles experienced by men and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment meeting enables you to see if you are comfortable with me, share what concerns you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and decide if therapy could assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an introductory assessment session in Richmond.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy focuses on how your thoughts influence your feelings and behaviour. It identifies and challenges negative thoughts which perpetuate the issues you experience. The objective of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to have healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests CBT for depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and social anxiety disorder.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You determine what matter concerning your childhood and/or adulthood you discuss. The aim of counselling is to help you to talk about a problem and find a solution which is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on the unconscious causes of the problems you experience. It facilitates you in being conscious of parts of your inner dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy aims to increase your self-comprehension to give you choices.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates psychodynamic therapy for depression and social anxiety disorder.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the difficulties you face. It explores your thoughts, feelings and relevant moments in your history. Psychotherapy intends to help you change or find appropriate ways of coping.
