2+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hi. I'm Beverley. I'm a registered senior accredited counsellor - I help individuals and couples with their emotional wellbeing. I have private and voluntary sector experience as a counsellor. My interest includes depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), relationship problems and self esteem, and the particular difficulties experienced by men, transgender people and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment session helps you to see if you are comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and decide if therapy could benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange an initial assessment session in Pinner.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy focuses on how your thoughts affect your feelings and actions. It identifies and challenges unhelpful thoughts that maintain the problems you experience. The aim of CBT is for you to experience healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates CBT for depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and social anxiety disorder.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You decide what issue concerning your childhood or adult life you discuss. An aim of counselling is to help you to talk about a problem and find a way forward that is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.
