What to Expect

An initial assessment appointment enables you to see if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and decide if therapy may help you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an initial assessment appointment in Southfields, London.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT concentrates on how your thoughts (cognitions) influence your emotions and behaviour. It identifies and addresses unhelpful thoughts which maintain the issues you experience. The objective of CBT is for you to experience healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests CBT for anorexia nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder (BED), Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), bulimia nervosa, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and social anxiety disorder.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you obtaining insight into the difficulties you confront. It considers your thoughts, emotions and relevant events in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you change or find appropriate methods of coping.
