5+ Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Hi. I am Amanda Webbon. I'm a senior accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals with their psychological wellbeing. I have private and public sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My interest includes bereavement, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and self esteem, and the particular difficulties experienced by men, transgender people and women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment meeting allows you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what worries you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and decide if therapy may assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange a preliminary assessment meeting in Kenilworth.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT centres on your reactions to your emotions. It fosters your acceptance of your physical sensations. ACT seeks to help you dedicate yourself to useful action.

Client Centred Therapy

Client centred therapy concentrates on appreciating and supporting you. It facilitates your openness about the concerns you encounter. Client centred therapy aims to help you discover your own solutions.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on how your thoughts influence your feelings and behaviour. It recognises and addresses negative thoughts which perpetuate the issues you encounter. The objective of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to experience healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends CBT for alcohol dependence, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and self harm.

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You determine what issue concerning your early years and/or adult life you explore. An objective of counselling is to enable you to speak about a problem and find a solution that is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

Dialectical behaviour therapy evaluates your understanding of your thoughts and emotions. It encourages your finding of helpful responses to your life. DBT hopes to help you improve and continue your coping abilities.

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the difficulties you face. It explores your ideas, feelings and relevant moments in your life. Psychotherapy intends to help you develop or discover appropriate ways of coping.
