3+ Years Post-Registration Experience

Hello. I'm Amanda Clark. I'm a registered counsellor - I support individuals with their mental wellbeing. I have private sector experience as a counsellor. My focus includes abuse, alcohol dependence and anger, and the specific issues experienced by men, transgender people and women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment meeting helps you to discover if you are comfortable with me, share what concerns you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and determine if therapy could benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to book a preliminary assessment meeting in Bournemouth.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioural therapy focuses on how your thoughts influence your feelings and behaviour. It recognises and challenges negative ideas that maintain the problems you experience. The aim of CBT is for you to experience healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests CBT for alcohol dependence, bipolar disorder, Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, schizophrenia, self harm and social anxiety disorder.
