More Detail

6+ Years Post-Accreditation Experience

Hi. I am Allison Knell. I'm an accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist - I support individuals and couples with their emotional wellbeing. I hold private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My focus involves relationship problems, as well as the specific obstacles encountered by men and women.

What to Expect

An introductory assessment appointment allows you to see if you are comfortable with me, share what troubles you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and determine if therapy may assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to arrange a preliminary assessment appointment in Edinburgh.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide what matter regarding your childhood or adulthood you discuss. The aim of counselling is to enable you to speak about a difficulty and find a way forward that is appropriate for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the difficulties you face. It considers your ideas, emotions and significant moments in your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you develop or find appropriate methods of managing.

Transactional Analysis (TA)

Transactional analysis centres on the roles you use to interact with yourself and others. It explores the effect of your pre-conscious life strategy and how to enhance it. TA aims to help you acknowledge your value and capacity to change.
