More Detail

Over 11 Years Post-Chartership Experience

Hello. I'm Ximena. I'm a chartered and registered counselling psychologist - I help individuals, couples and families with their psychological health. I have private sector experience as a counselling psychologist. My focus involves bereavement, bipolar disorder and depression, and the specific challenges experienced by men, transgender people and women.

What to Expect

An initial assessment meeting helps you to see if you are comfortable with me, discuss what troubles you, ask questions, understand confidentiality, and decide if therapy may assist you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an introductory assessment appointment in Brentford.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Acceptance and commitment therapy centres on your reactions to your emotions. It encourages your toleration of your bodily sensations. ACT seeks to help you commit yourself to positive change.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

(1 Review)
CBT concentrates on how your thoughts affect your feelings and actions. It identifies and challenges unhelpful thoughts which perpetuate the problems you experience. The aim of cognitive behavioural therapy is for you to have healthier thoughts and emotions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends cognitive behavioural therapy for anorexia nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder (BED), bipolar disorder, Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), bulimia nervosa, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia and social anxiety disorder.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and supporting you. You determine which issue regarding your childhood or adult life you discuss. An aim of counselling is to help you to talk about a problem and discover a way forward which is appropriate for you.

Psychology

(1 Review)
Psychology is interested in you and your thoughts, feelings and behaviour. It offers you psychological treatments and mental wellbeing support. An objective of psychological therapy is to help you ease symptoms.

Transpersonal Therapy

Transpersonal therapy considers your mind, body and spirit. It perceives the issues you encounter as opportunities for you to transform. Transpersonal therapy intends to help you acknowledge your human potential.
