11+ Years Post-Chartership Experience

Hi. I am Veronica Gioscia. I'm a chartered and registered counselling psychologist - I help individuals with their mental wellbeing. I have private sector experience as a counselling psychologist. My focus includes Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and relationship problems, as well as the specific problems experienced by women.

What to Expect

A preliminary assessment appointment enables you to discover if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and decide if therapy could benefit you. Please use a contact option on the right to book an introductory assessment appointment in Wimbledon, London.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT concentrates on how your thoughts affect your feelings and actions. It identifies and challenges unhelpful ideas that perpetuate the problems you encounter. The objective of CBT is for you to experience healthier thoughts and feelings.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) indicates CBT for bipolar disorder, depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and self harm.

Counselling

Counselling centres on listening to you, and assisting you. You decide what matter regarding your early years or adult life you discuss. An aim of counselling is to help you to talk about a difficulty and discover a way forward that is right for you.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) recommends counselling for depression.

Jungian Analysis

Jungian analysis interprets your dream-life and your unconscious. It recognises your individuality. Jungian analysis aims to help you enhance your self-knowledge.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on the unconscious causes of the issues you encounter. It facilitates you in being aware of aspects of your internal dynamics. Psychodynamic therapy aims to increase your self-understanding to give you choices.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) (England and Wales) suggests psychodynamic therapy for depression and self harm.

Psychology

Psychology is interested in you and your mind, feelings and actions. It offers you psychological interventions and mental wellbeing support. The intention of psychological therapy is to help you alleviate symptoms.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy focuses on you, and you gaining insight into the problems you face. It explores your ideas, emotions and significant moments in your life. Psychotherapy intends to help you change or discover suitable ways of coping.
